Algarve - Vila do Bispo - Sagres - Historical Sites

Vila do Bispo has its origins in a village called Santa Maria do Cabo that, in the beginning of the 16th century, was given by king D. Manuel I to the Bishop of Faro. It is, from a historical and cultural point of view, probably the most fascinating place in the South of Portugal. The city has an exceptional place in history for its proximity to Sagres, where, during the 15th century, Henry the Navigator carried out the famous 'Portuguese Discoveries.
