Aproximately 5 km. north of Portimão (in Alcalar) exists a necrópolis that dates back to at least 2000 a.c. Of the necropolis remains the so-called monument n.º 7, constituted by a circular chamber formed by schist plates, which is accessible by a corridor. The mortuary crypt has two lateral ritual niches.
